Welcome
My Dearest Friends,
Padova is a beautiful town in the North East of Italy. It has a
long history stretching back long before the Romans came.
The University of Padova was founded in 1222: Galileo Galilei
taught here and many great scientists and doctors came from
all over Europe to study. Padova is famous for the Basilica of
St Anthony, the frescoes by Giotto, Altichiero, Menabuoi,
Mantegna, Donatello and Titian and for its beautiful squares
and medieval buildings.
Padova is 12 km from where the Symposium will be held:
Abano Terme.
This small town lies at the foot of the Euganean hills, it was
already a famous spa town in Roman times and, today, is the
largest spa town in the world.
We are looking forward to seeing you at another excellent
scientific Symposium in a charming Italian atmosphere.
